Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) is a one more best government scheme to farmers that provides insurance coverage and financial support to farmers if the crop fails due to natural calamities, pests, and diseases. This scheme intends to support farmers to adopt innovative and modern techniques of agricultural practices and also stabilize their income. 

Key Features:

– Low premium rates: 2% for Kharif crops, 1.5% for Rabi crops, and 5% for commercial/horticultural crops.

– The remaining premium is subsidized by the government.

The Soil Health Card Scheme’s aim is to promote sustainable farming by providing information to farmers on soil nutrients status. Under this scheme, farmers get a soil health card for every two years, where complete details of soil nutrients are mentioned and also recommendations for improving soil health for sustainable farming.

– Free testing of soil samples.
